After the pomp and show, it's down to business at WH

The official ceremony done. The troops have dispersed from the South Lawn.

The special guests from the enclosure close to the podium were held back for the press to head back to the White House briefing room which today is the designated holding room for the press.

Most of the journalists in the room are charging their phones and resting their tired legs, having stood in the lawn for over 2 hours.

The media contingent has thinned down from the morning assembly as not all were credentialed for the press conference. A few of them were assigned green buttons to give them access to the short press briefing shortly after the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden.

As per the White House press pool, the president and prime minister spoke from prepared notes for 10 minutes about cooperation and democracies.
