Sukhoi-30 crash: Both pilots declared dead

JUST IN: Both pilots of Sukhoi-30 aircraft which crashed approx 60 Km from Tezpur Airbase on 23 May died in crash.

A Court of Inquiry has already been ordered.

It was reported that both pilots of the Su-30 aircraft sustained fatal injuries and were unable to initiate ejection before the crash.

Yesterday, search and rescue teams found a blood-stained shoe, half-burnt PAN card and a wallet of one of the two pilots.

The teams comprising the Army, the Air Force and civil administration personnel had recovered the jet's black box on May 28 from the crash site, located in a dense forest.

The wreckage of the fighter jet, which went missing on May 23, was found on May 26 through aerial recce, in a thick forest around 60 km from Tezpur city. -- ANI
