UPDATE: NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya resigns

Arvind Panagariya resigns as the vice chairman of NITI Aayog. According to reports,  he will resume teaching in the United States. 

He said August 31 would be his last day in office. 

He was appointed vice-chairman of NITI Aayog, the replacement for the Planning Commission on Jan 5, 2015. 

Panagariya was previously Chief Economist at the Asian Development Bank. 

He has also worked for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organisation, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
