In a major blow to VK Sasikala, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister D Jayakumar tonight said that the former aide of Jayalalithaa and her nephew, TTV Dinakaran to be kept away from the party.
Speaking to media, Jayakumar said "We have decided to lead the AIADMK without the influence of Dinakaran and his family."
Claiming support of all MLAs, he said that Sasikala and family to have no further say in the party and a committee will run the party.
Earlier, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam set terms for merger talks between rival AIADMK factions, one led by him and the other by Chief Minister E Palaniswamy.
VK Sasikala or her family cannot be in the picture, he told the media.
"There can be no dialogue with Sasikala's family in the picture...the party should not be in the hands of one family," said OPS, accusing the jailed AIADMK chief and her nephew of "making mistake after mistake" and urging the Palaniswamy faction to dump them.
