President Pranab Mukherjee presenting the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award to shooter Jitu Rai.
On the eve of the ceremony, Jitu told media persons, "I worked so hard for four years for the Olympics. But I couldn't execute my plans. I couldn't live up to the expectations that I and others had on me."
"I believe that a person learns more from his failures than from victories. This was my first Olympics and I have learnt a lot. There is a big difference in final and qualification. The pressure in the final is immense and one has to use to the mind and handle the pistol both in such a short time. I couldn't do it," he added.
