Police horse attacked by BJP MLA recovering fast
April 12, 2016 23:09 Police horse Shaktiman, which has to undergo and amputation surgery after a brutal attack allegedly by a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA during an anti-government protest in Dehradun, is now recovering fast, says Doctor Rakesh Kumar Nautiyal.
"He (Shaktiman) is able to stand on his own, without any support since 10-12 days (sic),' Nautiyal said.
The left hind leg of Shaktiman, which suffered multiple fractures after the attack, was amputated on last month.
The horse's amputation surgery took place two days after its fractures were fixed by external fixation by a group of 10 doctors -- six from Pantnagar and four district veterinary officers.
