Third front a futile exercise, says JD-U

India's regional Janata Dal -United, an ally of main opposition National Democratic Alliance, termed the emergence of the Third Front as a futile exercise on Monday. Addressing reporters in Patna, capital city of eastern Bihar state, Janata Dal-United chief Sharad Yadav said that the main battle will be between the Congress-led coalition and the leading opposition bloc, headed by the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party.
