Jesudas's faith in God is exceptional and he is able to impart it to the audience through his music and his words. He said he felt humble before a lady, who faced the biggest tragedy in her life and still remained calm and brave to become a role model for Indian womanhood.
Throughout the stage show, which was a medley of classical music and pure Bollywood, he emphasised the spirit of the event and brought the audience back again and again to the solemnity of the occasion and the presence of a heroic woman. He promised to carry the torch he received from Kavita burning as he went on a musical pilgrimage all over the country to pay homage to the martyrs.
Kavita's words were cryptic, but moving and meaningful. She said that she was proud that Kerala had chosen to honour her husband. She said that her husband had always been grateful for what he received from the universe and the society and that he would one day pay back what he owed them.
'On 26/11 he paid back,' she said and could not say more. Tears were almost invisible in her wide eyes and her voice was firm and clear as she spoke. She sat through the concert and heard M S Viswanathan and Kavita Krishnamurthy, who were given a lifetime achievement and the best playback singer awards respectively. Kavita Krishnamurthy sang a patriotic song in her honour.
