British Foreign Secretary David Miliband along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit the MP's Parliamentary constituency Amethi to get a first-hand account of rural developmental activities in India.
Miliband will undertake a two-day tour of Amethi beginning tomorrow.
Congress sources said that Miliband had expressed his desire to see the rural developmental activities in India during a meeting with Gandhi some time ago in the United Kingdom.
Gandhi invited him to visit his constituency in central-east UP where several schemes pertaining to cooperatives, self help groups and health have been launched in the recent years.
"The activities of the self-help groups, micro-finance schemes, literacy drive, health schemes etc. will be showcased to the visiting foreign dignitary and the delegates," the sources said.
Another popular scheme is the introduction of cooperatives in the dairy sector and its revival in this belt of UP.
Party sources said that the dairy sector has been re-energised and milk is given to the National Dairy Development Board, giving a new scope for employment amongst the rural people.
"The success of the dairy scheme too will be shown to Miliband," sources said, adding, both the young leaders (Gandhi and Miliband) will also interact with the beneficiaries of various schemes run through NGOs.
