BJP reschedules National Executive meet

January 01, 2009 19:24 IST

The Bharatiya Janata Party has rescheduled its national executive meet to the first week of February from the original date of January 23. The venue, however, has not been changed and the meet would be held in Nagpur.

The three-day national executive would now be held during February 6,7 and 8, party office secretary Shyam Jaju
told PTI in New Delhi on Thursday. Jaju added that on the first day the National Executive would meet, while the next two days have been kept for the party's national

council.

Though no reasons are being quoted for the change in date, party sources said the money bungling issue that had rocked the BJP headquarters earlier this week, could overshadow the national executive and thus the change was
effected.

Party leaders however are attributing the rescheduling to the fact that many Chief Ministers have their Republic Day engagements during the last days of January.
