India slammed Pakistan's Naval Chief for claiming that the terrorists involved in Mumbai attacks did not come by sea route from Karachi, saying it was part of Pakistan's "prevarications".
India reminded Pakistan's Naval Chief Admiral Noman Bashir that Pakistan had already made a formal acknowledgement about the fact that the 10 attackers came to Mumbai from Karachi by vessels. "I am sure somebody (in Pakistan) will deny tomorrow what the Naval chief said. This is part of prevarication," Home Minister P Chidambaram told media-persons in New Delhi when asked to comment on Bashir's statement.
Chidambaram also announced that Ashok Chakra winner M C Sharmas's wife has been given a job in a school.
In his third press conference after taking over as home minister, Chidambaram listed out several steps taken by the government forcing Pakistan to admit that its'terrority was used to plot and carry out terrorist attacks.'
"We would be making amendments suitable to the Indian conditions," the Union home minister said in response to a question whether Indian government was planning to use American model to fight terror.
Chidambaram said the United Progressive Alliance government's prominent achievement is that it has filed over 10,000 pages of chargesheet in the Mumbai attack case. "Pakistan has raised some questions and by next week I would be able to hand over the reply to external affairs ministry and let them do the needful," he said.
