PM vacates office in Parliament House

The prime minister's staff vacated his office in Parliament House on Thursday, the opening day of the current Parliament session, and the Special Protection Group which is responsible for his security sealed the rooms.

The PM's offiec in Parliament House occupies rooms number 9, 10 and 11. With the sealing of this office, it is evident that Dr Manmohan Singh, convalescing from the heart surgery last month, will not make a token appearance during the current session of the 14th Lok Sabha, its last.

The SPG personnel also removed all security gadgets installed in and around the PM's office, including the wireless equipment and the surveillance cameras fitted outside the room and at the PM's car parking section.
