Former Andhra Pradesh governor N D Tiwari, who quit over allegations of his involvement in a sex scandal, on Tuesday claimed that a Telugu channel used 'new technology' to malign him.
Tiwari said he did not want to embarrass Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi over the issue that kicked up a storm last week.
Tiwari said he was not involved in any scandal after a Telugu channel aired explicit footage of a man purported to be the former union minister in a 'compromising position' with three women.
"No scandal, there is no scandal. I don't believe in any scandal but because my wife is dead that is why it is so difficult to talk to a lady, this you find in the cinematic field," he said.
He said the channel "has made a combination of so many photographs, out of them one is mine, but that does not mean that they combine many photos and publish it in a channel. They have combined photographs using the new electronic technologies."
"In the Raj Bhavan, so many delegations meet me and it is very surprising that these channels could do this type of joining of 2-3 photographs," he added.
Asked how alleged call girls could enter Raj Bhavan, he replied, "No call girl can enter there. There is so much security available there. There was also a mahila (lady) security guard, so I think, there is a conspiracy".
