At least 150 people have been feared killed and nearly 400 injured following an early morning stampede at Chamunda temple in Mehrangarh near Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Over 1000 devotees, especially women, had gathered at the temple located on a hillock for the occasion of the first day of Navratri on Tuesday morning.
At around 5.30 am, some people tried enter the temple in a hurry to beat the crowd, leading to the stampede.
