Dr Singh, Sarkozy and Barroso also answered queries on issues like situation in Iran, the US strikes in Pakistan and the financial international.
There was concern over the growth of terrorism in Pakistan and its inability to control the growth of Taliban and other terrorist organizations in the region. In response to a question over the US air strikes in Pakistan, French President Sarkozy said they would ask Islamabad to root out terrorism without any reservations.
He said if Pakistan effectively deals with terrorism there would be no question of pursuing terrorist elements inside Pakistan territory.
Sarkozy had met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardai in New York during his recent visit to the United Nations and revealed that the new Pakistan President was committed to combating terrorism. Zardari, according to Sarkozy, has come out as a person with determination.
