India and France are scheduled to hold a bilateral summit on Tuesday in Paris -- the main item on the agenda will be the signing of a civilian nuclear co-operation agreement between the two countries.
Addressing a joint press conference after his talks with the European Union on Monday, alongside EU Chairperson and French President Nicolas Sarkozy and EU President Jose Manuel Barroso, Dr Singh expressed hope that there would be good news on Tuesday.
While stating that France trusted India and its prime minister, Sarkozy questioned how the world wanted to make India a partner in climate change without making India a partner in matters of civil nuclear co-operation.
