The police on Monday identified two youths from Ambala in Haryana who could be involved in the alleged molestation and attempted rape of a German tourist in Chandigarh on Saturday night and recovered the car used by the accused to dump the victim.
Two youths from Ambala have been identified for their possible involvement in the case and efforts are on to nab them, assistant superintendant of police, Madhur Verma said but refused to name the duo.
The car used by the accused to dump the girl in the city on Sunday afternoon was also recovered in Ambala, he said, adding that police teams have been rushed there to nab the two youths who are at large.
Meanwhile, the girl has been medically examined and a report is awaited from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Chandigarh, Verma said, adding that a case of attempt to rape, abduction and molestation has been registered against six youths in connection with the incident.
The CFSL would submit its report within the next three to four days and it will be a "conclusive evidence" against the culprits, he said.
"We are following on definite leads after the recovery of a vehicle and will soon nab the culprits," Verma said.
The police have also intimated the German Embassy in New Delhi about the incident, he said.
The 20-year-old German tourist was allegedly abducted by six youths from outside Hotel Taj in the heart of the city where she had gone with a friend and her husband for a cup of coffee on Saturday evening.
When she came out of the hotel to smoke in its parking, six youths,waiting in a Scorpio, pulled her inside and allegedly molested and attempted to rape her.
