In Delhi, the water level had crossed 206 metres on Tuesday night forcing officials to close rail and road traffic on the Old Yamuna Bridge in northeast Delhi.
As a safety measure, Railways diverted 26 trains, 27 were short-terminated and 10 others cancelled.
However, a senior official from Flood and Irrigation department said, "The water level will further decline as Haryana is now releasing less quantity of water compared to the last few days. We hope the water scale will go below the danger mark of 204.80 metres."
