Anuj Chauhan, one of the two persons injured in Thursday's BMW hit-and-run case in New Delhi, succumbed to his injuries at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday.
Chauhan and his friend Mrigank Srivastav, who were riding a motorcycle, were hit by a BMW in the wee hours of Friday, when they tried to overtake it at the Moolchand Hospital flyover.
The BMW was being driven by Utsav Bhasin, the son of an influential businessman, who was reportedly in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.
Utsav Bhasin held for BMW accident case
Bhasin was arrested from the residence of a friend in Kashmiri gate on Friday while he was planning to flee the country. Interestingly, he was granted bail as he was booked under a bailable offence.
A panel of doctors is being constituted by AIIMS to conduct Chauhan's post-mortem.
Chauhan's relatives have demanded strict action against Bhasin, who might face arrest and charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
