The Skoda was battered and its back windshield was shattered. On the ground lay a jacket and a cheap pair of sneakers. Two leather waist pouches were thrown on the ground too and a cell phone and its charger. A spent bullet too lay on the road. The police had a golden labrador sniffing around and were carefully rounding up the evidence as well as marking portions of the area with chalk. Large puddles of blood were all over the road.

In about 15 minutes scores of television cameramen and reporters had ambushed the scene.
