Three persons were arrested by the Special Investigation Team in connection with three different cases of the post-Godhra riots, SIT sources said.
Subhashchandra Darji was arrested in connection with the Naroda Patiya case where 89 people where killed by a mob during the 2002 riots.
Darji was part of the mob and instigated the rioters that had attacked the minority community members living in Naroda area, SIT sources alleged.
Another person, Nitin Kumar Devrukar, has been arrested in the Naroda Gam case where 11 people belonging to the minority community were killed by a mob during communal riots six years ago, they said, adding that Devrukar has been charged with rioting and arsoning.
Bharat Shitla Prasad was arrested in connection with the Gulburg society case where 38 people were killed, including ex-Parliamentarian Ehsan Jaffrey, during the 2002 riots, the sources added.
SIT has made several arrests in the past couple of weeks in the Gulburg society, Naroda Patia and Naroda Gam cases.
The five-member SIT is headed by former Central Bureau of Investigations chief R Raghavan and includes ex-DG of Uttar Pradesh C D Satpathy, besides three IPS officers from Gujarat -- Geetha Johri, Shivanad Jha and Ashish Bhatia.
