Pravin Togadia, general secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, rejected the Anti Terrorism Squad's contention that those who had been arrested in the Malegoan bomb blast case and particularly Dayanand Pande had given a supari for killing senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat and a colleague for straying away from the Hindu line.
"It seems that ATS is good at cooking up stories. But there is no one who can explain to me that the person who is plotting to kill Muslims, how can he or she be involved in plotting to kill RSS leaders like Mohan Bhagwat. Either of the two could be correct but not both," Togadia told media-persons at a press conference held at the VHP head-quarters in New Delhi.
Togadia said that he was given security cover on the basis of intelligence reports from Pakistan that someone was trying to kill him. "I travelled with Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday but he had no security cover, that clearly shows the intention of the government," he said.
Togadia claimed that false and motivated stories were being planted by the ATS to mislead the people.
Togadia wanted to know if there had been such a plot of killing senior RSS leaders then Intelligence Bureau should give details how many times it briefed National Security Advisor, the prime minister and the home minister.
"Certainly these details can be made public if prime minister can send the NSA and IB chief to appraise the leader of opposition L K Advani to stop defending Sadhvi Pragya and Lt. Col Purohit,"he said.
