A 12-member jury at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday convicted fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander, 34, for sexually assaulting seven women.
The six men and six women jury found him guilty of 16 of 23 counts, which include forcible rape and committing a lewd act on a child. He was acquitted of four counts.
Now Jon faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for January 13.
Jon, an Indian citizen whose family is originally from Kerala, was arrested on rape charges on March 6, 2007, in Beverly Hills, California, after a female acquaintance accused him of sexually assaulting her in his apartment on the night of March 4, 2007.
On March 19, 2007, he was indicted on 13 additional counts.
In the months that followed, the number of accusations increased exponentially.
