Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav, whose son Vishal Yadav and nephew Vishal Yadav were awarded life imprisonment in the Nitish Katara murder case, said on Friday that they were victims of political vendetta.
"We will go to the high court against this judgment. Our children are victims of political vendetta," Yadav said after Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur pronounced the verdict.
He alleged that false evidence and fake witnesses were used against his son and Vishal.
He also said that his political opponents used the case to spoil his image. Yadav's lawyer S K Sharma also said that his clients would challenge the verdict in the high court.
