The BJP needs the support of three more legislators to achieve simple majority in the 224-member Karnataka assembly.

Shekhar and Sangadgi are rebel BJP legislators while Swami contested the elections successfully after breaking ties with the Congress.

Till reports last came in, the leaders were holding talks with Yeddyurappa. A final decision may be announced in an hour's time.

If talks succeed, Yeddyurappa is likely to meet state Governor Rameshwar Thakur and stake his claim to form the first independent BJP government in Karnataka.
