Rahul Gandhi, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, says that he will value all the experience he has gained during his tour of Karnataka.

Gandhi, who landed in Hubli on Wednesday as part of his five-day Karnataka tour, said before meeting with Youth Congress workers that his tour had been very fruitful and he had gained a lot of experience.

"I have been getting a positive response from one and all and I am enjoying every minute of my visit," Rahul said at BVB College in Hubli.

"The response from the public has been good and most people were responsive and encouraging. I have interacted with all sections of society in the last two days and I hope to return to Karnataka soon," he said.

Asked why he had taken up the task of building the party despite the presence of several senior leaders in the party, Rahul said, "I am only trying to gain experience. We have several leaders to build the party and I am here to interact with the people and understand them. For a politician, it is important to meet people and travel across the country to get to know the root of the problems," he added.

Rahul, however, refused to comment on the criticism of his Connect India tour by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Jaitley and former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy. He even ignored a question on whether he would become the Prime Minister if the Congress party returned to power after the next parliamentary polls.
