The core message from the Indian Mujahideen is similar to the one put out by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, SIMI and HuJI. It speaks of destabilising the country, uniting Muslims, and seeking revenge for the various atrocities committed against Muslims in India.
IB agents believe SIMI under the guise of the Indian Mujahideen is planning more strikes in New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Chennai, Gujarat and Bangalore.
The IB officers say it is clear that the new outfit is a combination of the HuJI and SIMI. The latter organisation has been trying to regroup following the major crackdown on its leaders in Indore.
The claims made by the Indian Mujahideen is a pointer that SIMI is re-emerging under a new guise, the IB officers say, adding that the youth recruited to carry out attacks in the name of the Indian Mujahideen are mainly from Hyderabad. They have been training in armed and unarmed combat and, as the attacks on Bangalore and Ahmedabad show, they retain the expertise to carry out terror strikes at will.
