Parimal Rupani, historian and resident of Junagadh, inherited the history of Junagadh from his grandfather Jugatram. His grandfather was part of the meeting called on August 13, 1947 in Mohabbat Manzil in Junagadh by Bhutto to debate the future of the State.
Rupani told rediff.com, "I had preserved the pictures and documents with the idea of preserving the history of India's independence. I never thought that this inheritance will be much in demand because of the Bhutto legacy too."
According to the historian, all things pertaining to Shah Nawaz are now quite valuable, as it involves Benazir Bhutto's dadaji (grandfather).
After India's independence on August 15, 1947, Junagadh was struggling to take a final decision on whether or not to join Pakistan. Wanting his State to join Pakistan, the Nawab invited a delegation from Pakistan to discuss the issue.
