Will the election in Pakistan change the course, the future of Pakistan in some positive way?
It is hard to say because of the level of apathy in Pakistan (towards the electoral process). I do not know if the people have invested so much in the electoral process... I still wonder whether people would come out on the streets.
While I am optimistic about Pakistan and I want to go back, I must say that the country deserves a break. When Pakistan was playing against India in the under 21 cricket tournament -- I have never watched cricket in my life but I watched that final game -- I said Pakistan needs to have some sort of good news and defeat India. I said to myself that India gets all the good news so let Pakistan have one night of good news and it would be so good for the country that has such terrible luck for the past 60 years.
People in Pakistan need a break, some sort of change. I do not know whether the election would be able to deliver that outcome or not.
