'Jihad is in my blood'

Confession statements, interrogations, and a lie detector test have indicated that suspected Harkat-ul-Jehad-al-Islami (HuJI) terrorist Mohammed Riazuddin Nasir had some disastrous plans for Karnataka.

As investigations proceed at a brisk pace, it has become clear that Nasir was extremely upset about the arrest of his father Mohammad Nasiruddin in connection with the Haren Pandya murder case.

In a note written by Nasir to his mother Tasneem Fatima, which was recovered by investigators, Nasir seemed very upset about his father's arrest. The note, however, never reached his mother, who claims that her son is innocent.

The note reveals that Nasir was distraught about his father's arrest and wrote that he would meet with him.

Even during the course of investigations, Nasir, on several occasions, said that his father was unnecessarily arrested.

Investigating agencies have also found several books and notes belonging to Nasir in which he has scribbled 'jihad is in my blood' and 'jihad mix my blood'.

According to the police, the word 'jihad' has been scribbled randomly on several notes as well as the books seized from him.

The books seized from Nasir deal with the history of Islam. Most of these books were borrowed from libraries.

The police say that these books do not contain jihadi literature, but talk only about religion. The only worry is that it has been misinterpreted to suit the needs of terrorists, the police say.
