Counting of votes on in five Indian states

Counting of the votes for assembly elections began in five states of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and the national capital, New Delhi on Monday.

Christened by poll experts as the 'semi-final' for upcoming general elections, the result would decide the approach of the political parties. According to initial reports, Congress Party was leading in Delhi, Rajasthan and Mizoram while Bharatiya Janata Party was ahead in Madhya Pradesh.
