Visitors look at a photograph of a broken clock showing the time 8:15 -- when the world's first atomic bomb was dropped -- in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima, Japan.
Hiroshima marks the 63rd anniversary of the atom bomb attack on August 6, the day the bomb was dropped in 1945, during the second world war. Over 140,000 people were killed by the bomb and the aftermath of the attack, an attack the Americans claim helped bring an early end to World War II in the Pacific.
