NRI charged with ex-girlfriend's murder

An Indian-origin unemployed youth who allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend to death was charged with her murder in London.

Vickram Singh, 26-year-old non-resident Indian youth was charged by a court with murder on Monday, after he killed Gemma Dorman, 23, on Sunday while she was leaving a restaurant to go to a nearby ATM, the police said.

Singh was enraged when he saw Gemma with her fiance a few days ago, in Battersea, south London.

Dorman was treated at the scene by an off-duty paramedic who witnessed the attack, but died an hour later in hospital.

'Gemma was a beautiful, charming, sweet, popular, funny, charismatic and loving daughter, sister and aunt and granddaughter.You were so full of life and so cruelly robbed of it. Gemma we hope your wonderful free spirit has found peace,' her family said in a statement.
