The BJP on Sunday said its senior party leader L K Advani had never said that he was not aware of the decision to send former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh along with terrorists in an aircraft to Kandahar for release of passengers of a hijacked Indian plane.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said the decision to send Singh to Kandahar was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Security in a meeting in which Advani was also present as the then Home Minister.

About the way terrorists were released and taken to Afghanistan, the former union minister said the Cabinet Committee did not take decision on procedural matters which are left to the respective departments.

To a query on Congress President Sonia Gandhi's remarks on Advani over the Kandahar episode on Thursday, Rudy said, "There are many things Sonia does not understand. She does not know many things which are happening in the country and even in her UPA government," Rudy remarked.

Under the NDA rule it was the prime minister who used to take decisions. Now under the UPA, Manmohan Singh cannot take decisions on his own hence the problems, he said.
