According to reports reaching district headquarters, 15 out of the 35 passengers travelling in the boat swam to safety.
Preliminary reports quoting Barh Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashok Kumar Chowdhury, who is camping near the spot, said the mishap occurred when the boat was ferrying people from Patwaria Ghat to Darbe Bhador area on the other side of the river. It was caught in the swirling current and capsized immediately.
As such all the passengers fell into the river and went missing.
