The Central Industrial Security Force has finally got over its dilemma over the continuation of a woman recruit in the services after a medical report failed to prove that the person was a female.
The paramilitary force decided to terminate the candidate's services after it received a report from an expert panel from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
The 18-year-old constable, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, was recruited to the paramilitary force in June as a woman trainee, but during mandatory medical tests, she was found to be having no reproductive organs.
The matter came to light during the medical examinations after she cleared the written and physical tests five months ago. Her case was referred by the Madhya Pradesh CISF unit to the headquarters in Delhi, which decided to refer the case to AIIMS for an expert opinion.
The AIIMS medical team reported back to the CISF, saying that she was not a female, sources at the premier institute said.
"Based on the medical report by experts, she was terminated from the services. The case under reference regarding an individual who is no longer a member of the force must remain within the boundaries of right to privacy," CISF spokesperson Vertul Singh said.
"CISF, like other similar organisations, respects the right to privacy of individuals both within the force and outside. Everything has been done as per the recruitment norms and procedures," he added.
