Members of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday demanded the dismissal of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government in Tamil Nadu.
The ADMK members' demand comes after violent protests rocked Madurai, following an opinion poll about the ideal political heir to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, published by Tamil daily Dinakaran.
The House adjourned nearly an hour before lunch. As soon as the House reassembled at noon after an earlier adjournment during Question Hour on the Gujarat fake encounter issue, AIADMK members sprang to their feet and trooped into the well raising anti-DMK slogans.
S G Indira and K Malaisamy and other AIADMK members kept shouting slogans before the podium.
SP and TDP, who have been recently making efforts to revive the Third Front, also raised slogans and joined AIADMK members in the well.
As members were unrelenting, Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan adjourned the House within five minutes of uproar.
Earlier, the Question Hour again saw the raking up of the Gujarat issue leading to adjournment of the House till noon.
Dinesh Trivedi of the Trinamool Congress sought to raise the issue of recent killing of farmers in Nandigram in West Bengal.
Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said he would not allow suspension of the Question Hour as demanded by members. But, as the din continued, he adjourned the House.
