The met department forecast heavy rains in the southern part of the state as moderate rains lashed the entire state on Tuesday with Mount Abu recording a maximum rainfall of 124 mm.
The residents are returning back to their villages after water level has receded in most of the areas, Collector Naresh Pal Gangwar told PTI. Eighteen mobile medical teams are visiting the villages and there were no unattended villagers in the district, he said, adding senior administrative officials too are visiting the villages to provide relief and succour to them.
Meanwhile, the irrigation department has initiated the repair work of the 118-year-old Jaswant Sagar dam, on a war footing and a two-feet high ring dam is being mended at the two places where it had ruptured discharging the rainy water, he said.
Traffic resumed on the Jodhpur-Jaipur National Highway, after it was repaired, he said. Likewise the situation in Pali district of the state was normal as water has completely receded in majority of the colonies, Additional District Magistrate Kalpana Agarwal said.
