The country's first mission to the Moon, Chandaryaan-I, is expected to blast-off on April nine next, say Indian Space Research Organisation officials.
"Conditions for the launch is advantageous that day," an ISRO official said.
Chandrayaan-1 will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, according to the Bangalore-headquartered space agency.
"It will take about five-and-half days for Chandrayaan-1 to get to the moon," officials said, adding that the probe will be in a 100 km polar orbit around the Moon.
The Chandrayaan-1's mission aims at high-resolution remote sensing of the Lunar surface in visible, near Infrared, low energy X-rays and high-energy X-ray regions.
