A Jharkhand special court hearing the fodder scam convicted six people for withdrawing huge amounts of money and misusing the same in the multi-crore fodder scam in which Railway Minister Lalu Yadav and former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra are also facing trail.
Four of them -- Shailendra Kumar Kashyap, the then assistant treasury officer, Ranchi, Ashok Kumar Singh, the then assistant treasury officer, Ranchi, Ashokanand Prasad, the then accountant, Ranchi Treasury and Jagdish Sharma, the then scrutiny clerk, Ranchi treasury -- have been awarded three years rigorous imprisonment with Rs 50,000 fine each.
Two suppliers, Sairu Nisha, a partner in the Chhotanagpur Cattle Food Supply Company, Ranchi, and Sushil Kumar, proprietor of the Samarpan Veterinary Enterprises, Patna have been sentenced to three years in jail and pay fine of Rs 25,000 each.
So far, 29 out of 31 accused have been convicted by the court.
