t was lunch hour at Montreal's Dawson College, on Wednesday, when Kimveer Gill walked into the cafeteria, with three firearms, and opened indiscriminate fire on the students.
As the police, already on the campus for some routine inquiry, confronted him he pumped a bullet into his head. But not before he had killed one student, 18-year-old Anastasia DeSousa, and injured many others.
An Indo-Canadian, Gill was a member of a Gothic web site and his postings there offer a chilling insight into the hatred that filled his heart. It was no ordinary hatred: he walked into Dawson College armed with a 9mm semi-automatic rifle, a .45 pistol and 12-bore gun.
