A Boston-based non-profit organization,Soundarya Lahari organised this visarjan on the Lovells Island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, a 20 minute boat ride from Boston.

Ganesh, from Soundarya, says around 320 people from across the northeastern region of the US, from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut boarded a few chartered boats from Boston's Quincy dock.

Soundarya Lahari distributes Ganeshas to devotees in the Greater Boston area. On the day of the visarjan devotees congregate courtesy Soundarya Lahari who coordinates the rituals.

The Ganesha are immersed in the Atlantic ocean amidst singing of Ganpati Bappa Morya and Ek don teen char, Ganpaticha jay jay kaar.'
