Lord Ganpati comes visiting

Yet another view of Hyderabad's popular Khairatabad Ganesha, from another year when he reached an amazing 42 feet.

Reader G Prabhakar Rao says this mandal was founded by freedom fighter S Sankarayya in 1956, This Ganpati is said to be the tallest in the world and attracts lakhs of devotees. He is immersed in Hussain Sagar lake on the last day of the puja, with the aid of cranes, after a long ride across Hyderabad.
