racks appeared in the 22 years old alliance between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra on Wednesday night with BJP refusing to revoke its decision to field its candidate for Chimur assembly bypoll and Sena threatening to call off the tie-up if BJP sticks to its stand.
The BJP said on Thursday that it was optimistic that its alliance with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra would continue, despite contradictory signals emanating from the Sena camp.
The Shiv Sena on Friday decided to let the BJP contest the Chimur assembly by-election in Maharashtra, ending days of acrimony and a war of words that had threatened the alliance between the two parties.
