Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar does not like being called a CEO. "I am not a CEO, I am simply the chief minister," Nitish Kumar said on Friday after releasing a report card on completion of one year in office.
"I like to work as a team leader for development as chosen by millions of people of Bihar," the soft-spoken Nitish Kumar said.
Nitish Kumar said he was committed towards development. He claimed in his report card that systematic governance had been established in the state, law and order had improved and investors were attracted to Bihar. "Large scale measures have been undertaken to improve the law and order situation by taking stern action against criminals," Nitish's report card read.
He had announced soon after becoming chief minister last year that his government will present a report card before the people upon completion of one year in office.
His report card further states that criminals have begun to fear the law and common citizens are living in a peaceful environment. "About 4,730 criminals have been convicted due to speedy trials in the last 10 months," Nitish Kumar said.
"Provisions for 50 per cent reservation for women, 20 per cent reservation for extremely backward classess and for SC/STs according to their population in all categories of posts in the three-tier Panchayat system have been made," the report card stated.
The report card also records the formation of half a dozen commissions by the Nitish government, including Land Reforms Commission, Administrative Reforms Commission, Bhagalpur Riots Judicial Inquiry Commission and Common School System Commission.
According to the report card, the State Investment Promotion Board has approved new proposals for investment worth Rs 25,300 crore.
