Universally, Children's Day is celebrated on November, 20 every year. In 1959, this was the day when the Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
However, in India it is celebrated on November 14, the birth anniversary of independent India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, known for his fondness for children.
