Traders in Delhi got a reprieve from the court-ordered sealing of unauthorised commercial establishments on Saturday with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi deciding to halt the drive during the weekend.
"There would be no sealing in the capital today and tomorrow in view of the weekend," officials said.
The civic body has till now sealed a total of 353 properties, including major landmarks like the CTC Plaza and TRAI's office, besides a property owned by former cricketer Kapil Dev and a popular playschool in GK-I area.
The traders' 24-hour anti-sealing bandh on Friday had evoked mixed response with important shopping arcades like Connaught Place, Janpath, Khan Market, Sarojini Nagar, Chandni Chowk and Daryaganj, remaining open.
Meanwhile, a 60-year-old trader, who set himself ablaze in a south-west Delhi locality three days ago due to "depression", died at a hospital in Saturday.
Wasir Chand, a resident of Tilak Nagar in west Delhi, was admitted to Safdarjung hospital with 70 per cent burn injuries.
The owner of a photo studio in Uttam Nagar, he had immolated himself at Jafar Kalan on Wednesday.
Though his family claimed that Chand was upset over the MCD's sealing drive, he had told police in his statement that he was depressed because of domestic problems.
