One person has been killed and at least 19 people, including seven policemen, were injured in separate grenade attacks that militants carried out in localities across Srinagar.
The attacks come two days ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan's visit to Srinagar for the second roundtable conference to find a solution to the Kashmir issue.
Five policemen and seven civilians received splinter injuries as militants lobbed a grenade at security personnel posted at the Kathidarwaza Chowk in Rainawari area in the afternoon, official sources said.

Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed responsibility for the attack.
In another strike, ultras hurled a grenade on a police party at Baba Dawood Khakhi bridge near Babarbar Shah in downtown Srinagar wounding two policemen and a civilian.
The grenade was hurled at 1535 hours and the militants fled the scene taking advantage of the panic that followed the explosion.
The injured have been admitted to hospital.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the second attack.
Later in the evening, one person was killed and four tourists were injured in a powerful explosion at Soura area of Srinagar.
A senior police officer said militants tossed a powerful hand grenade at a passing tourist mini-bus.
"The grenade exploded inside the mini-bus killing the driver instantly and injuries to four tourists. They were taken to Soura Medical Institute for treatment," the officer added. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
