An Indian-origin jew in Israel has won a lottery worth over Rs 1 crore and plans to use part of the money to fulfil his mother's dream of visiting their homeland.

"My 82-year-old mother, who immigrated to Israel in 1964, has always said that its her dream to visit India," David Nagani, a bus driver said, after winning the Israel national lottery. "With her frail health I couldn't have taken her there the way I travel. With God's grace I can now afford to fulfil her wishes.

He hopes that his five children would also accompany them on the trip. "David called me up telling me to get ready for the much awaited trip to India. He said that he will take me to the Sai Baba, a wish I have nurtured for more than a decade now. It took a while before the whole thing sink in," Nagani's mother, Batsheva Naogaonkar, said.
