The Democratic Indira Congress, led by senior leader K Karunakaran, will fight all the 140 assembly seats in the three phased Kerala election on the 'television' symbol. "Even if we go it alone in the polls, we will fight the elections," Karunakaran said, addressing a party convention in Kochi on Sunday morning.

Referring to the ongoing discussion with Congress leaders in Thiruvananthapuram, he said the DIC-K was being asked to fight the elections on the 'Hand' symbol though the party's symbol is the 'Television'.

The 10-month old party, he said, had only one condition, "Those who help us, we will help in return". Each move the party makes would be done keeping in mind the feelings of its followers, he said, adding that even if the post of the Prime Minister was "offered" to him, he would "not leave his followers."

"Be prepared for the elections. From now on, do not see who the candidates are. The motto should be that we emerge victorious," he said.

Expressing confidence, he said the party would emerge victorious. "Nobody can spoil it." Without naming either the Congress led United Democratic Front or the CPI (M) led Left Democratic Front, he said none of them could come to power without the help of the DIC (K). "The party will have a decisive role in the formation of the next government," he said.
